David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.

The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
