The rising star maintains impressive online following
The young golfer can count on multiple well-known supporters when she makes her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, operates numerous international courses and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she revealed.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Simply stay calm."
"He practically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she added.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has competed in a mere three competitions this year and holds the 461st position in AJGA rankings.
However she can seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating her mother.
"He represents the best player in the world," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He told me to go out there, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge some of top competitors in professional golf at this tournament, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to wider groups, particularly among the next generation.
Kai boasts millions of followers and recently launched a personal fashion and living company.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
